Democratic campaign hand Brad Komar is returning to Colorado as Hillary Clinton’s lead organizer in the state ahead of the March caucuses.
Komar managed Gov. John Hickenlooper’s re-election campaign in 2014, in a Republican tide.
As “state lead” for Clinton, Komar is tasked with building a ground swell for the former secretary of state and help her win Colorado’s caucuses on Super Tuesday, March 1.
The low-turnout caucuses will challenge the candidates to find dedicated supporters, and Clinton’s effort comes as Democratic rival Bernie Sanders is energizing hardcore Democrats. “On the first day of this campaign, we began organizing in Colorado and now we’ve got a top notched state lead to build the type of grassroots-driven campaign Hillary Clinton needs to win this caucus that we expect to be competitive,” said Marlon Marshall, the director of state campaigns and political engagement. “From now until election day, we’ll be relentless in making sure Colorado families join our campaign when they learn about Hillary Clinton’s tenacious fight for women and families. Brad is exactly the type of seasoned operative who can get that done.”
Komar, who will start soon after Labor Day, is a Clinton camp veteran, having started his political career organizing for her 2008 effort in Nevada. He later worked for President Barack Obama’s 2008 general election campaign in Missouri. He also has experience with campaigns in his native New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
