Colorado State Troopers have arrested two of three suspects who ran away from a car after it crashed following a brief chase, authorities say.
In a related incident, an Adams County Sheriff’s deputy was injured in a crash while responding to the first accident, said Sgt. Aaron Pataluna of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.
A CSP trooper turned on his lights in an attempt to pull over a car on eastbound U.S. 36 near Interstate 25, Trooper Nate Reid said.
Instead of pulling over, the suspect car fled at a high rate of speed, Reid said.
The trooper didn’t attempt to keep up with the suspect car, which crashed near Interstate 270 and York Street, he said.
The deputy was responding to the call when he crashed near Colorado 224 and York Street, Pataluna said.
The names of the two suspects who were arrested have not been released.
