Friday-Monday: No one would mistake the A Taste of Colorado for anything other than a food festival, since it’s the biggest one in the region, drawing roughly 500,000 people last year over four days. But it’s also an end-of-summer celebration with broad cultural appeal, featuring live music performances from Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Morris Day and the Time, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers, Kansas, Craig Campbell, Mary Lambert and others. Besides the more than 50 food vendors, there’s a carnival, a kid’s stage and dozens of other vendors. 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 4; 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 5-6; 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Sept. 7 at Civic Center. Admission is free, and strips of 15 food tickets are $10. .
