The Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company is one of a dozen theater groups nationally to be awarded a 2015 grant from the American Theater Wing (creator of the Tony Awards).

joins companies from New Orleans, Portland, Chicago, San Francisco and elsewhere receiving . All were cited as being “integral to their communities.”

Stephen Weitz, BETC’s producing director, said, “we are incredibly proud and honored.”

Grants of $10,000 each will be distributed for general operating support to these young companies (all between five and 15 years old), with a distinctive mission to strengthen and demonstrate the quality, diversity, and dynamism of American theatre.

“These 12 theater companies have proven themselves integral to the fabric of their respective communities, and are furthering the national cultural conversation in exciting ways,” said Marva Smalls, Chair of the National Theatre Company Grants committee.
