Several fire departments responded to an apartment fire late Wednesday night in southeast Denver.
The fire was in the 8800 block of East Florida Avenue, just east of South Parker Road, at the Country Club Villas.
Firefighters with the Denver and Aurora fire departments, and the Cunningham Fire Protection District, fought the fire in a three-story apartment building.
There were multiple ambulances on the scene, but no immediate reports of injuries.
Residents were evacuated, at about 11 p.m., from the building.
Two people at the scene said they heard a “boom” and then smelled smoke. They also said a woman jumped from a second-story window to get out of the burning apartment building.
Fire alarms rang out as about 50 people gathered in the street near the burning building.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
