1Cigarette butt causes neighbor dispute.On Aug. 24, a man called Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies after he saw his neighbor throw a cigarette butt in the street in the 4000 block of South Zang Street in the Morrison area. The reporting party showed the deputy a video of the incident and the suspect was given a ticket. He had previously been warned by another deputy.

2 Fight at bar not charged. Someone reported a fight in which an employee was assaulted Aug. 30 at the Buffalo Rose, 1119 Washington Ave., Golden. Police went to the bar to talk to the employee, who said she was play-fighting with a male patron. Neither party wished to press charges.

3 Neighbor reports BB gun shot. On Aug. 31, a man called a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy to report that he was shot at with a BB gun in the 4000 block of South Zang Street in the Morrison area. The man told deputies he took his gun along when he went to investigate a neighbor earlier that day. Later, on his porch, the man heard what he thought was a BB hit his home. The deputy advised him to leave his gun home.

4 Vehicle theft mistaken. On Aug. 29, Golden police went to McDonald’s, 17500 S. Golden Road, on a report of vehicle theft. The reporting party, an employee there, said he drove the van to work and when he ended his shift, it was gone. He said he was borrowing the van from someone but the owner did not say he was going to pick it up. Police later received a call from the vehicle owner saying he did retrieve his vehicle and that it was not stolen.
