
A sex offender with an extensive criminal record in Colorado, including a conviction for sex assault on a child, pleaded guilty to kidnapping in a .
Dennis Willmore, 36, appeared in Jefferson County Court on Monday and pleaded guilty to grabbing a 10-year-old girl and dragging her behind a trash bin in a nearby alley, according to a Thursday news release from the 1st Judicial District.
The victim told investigators that Willmore gripped her neck and that she thought she was going to die or be kidnapped.
She escaped by kicking Willmore in the testicles and running away while screaming.
Willmore was arrested by Wheat Ridge police later that day, the release said.
On Monday, Willmore pleaded guilty to second-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault.
Sentencing has been scheduled for Nov. 6 at 11 a.m.
Willmore faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, the release said.
