The gave CBS’ and NFL Network’s season-opening night broadcast of ‘Thursday Night Football’ its best-ever ratings with an average overnight household rating/share of 14.3/25, up 4 percent from last year’s Steelers-Ravens game (13.7/23; 9/11/14), previously the highest-rated TNF broadcast.

Thursday night’s prime-time coverage of the game beat the combined delivery of NBC, ABC and FOX by 90 percent (6.8/12). And CBS’ and NFL Network’s overnight rating/share of 12.9/23 in primetime beat each of the broadcast networks by a wide margin: 1,333 percent better than FOX (0.9/2), 461 percent better than ABC (2.3/4) and 258 percent better than NBC (3.6/6).

The game’s household rating/share peaked at 15/30 from 9:30-10 p.m. MDT — just as Peyton Manning led the Broncos on a 10-play, 80-yard drive to tie the game and for the game-winning touchdown.
