Forecasters are calling for mild temperatures Friday in Denver as the city heads into its last summer weekend this year.
The National Weather Service in Boulder is calling for sunny skies with a high near 72 degrees.
“A cold front will move across northeast Colorado (Friday) morning with gusty northeast winds and cooler temperatures this afternoon,” the weather service said in a forecast bulletin.
In parts of the northern Colorado high country, snow was reported Friday morning.
A webcam at Rocky Mountain National Park’s Alpine Visitor Center, which sits at an elevation of 11,796 feet, showed a light blanket of snow.
On Cameron Pass, cameras showed the roadway covered in a snowy layer.
Dry weather is expected from Saturday into early next week, the bulletin said.
“Temperatures will be near seasonal levels for the weekend and then above normal for Monday and Tuesday,” according to the bulletin.
The weather service is calling for a high of 77 degrees in Denver on Saturday and a high of 80 degrees on Sunday.
