A 19-year-old man was wounded Thursday afternoon in a drive-by shooting in Northglenn, police say.
The shooting happened about 1 p.m. near the intersection of Garland Drive and Logan Court, just north of an elementary school, according to Cmdr. Ron Haralson.
Haralson said the teen and another “intended victim” were walking in the area when the occupants of a gold Mercury sports utility vehicle drove by and opened fire.
Police say the teen, who was taken to a local hospital, was shot in the stomach.
“I don’t have an update on his condition yet,” Haralson said.
The intended victim was not hit by any of the multiple shots.
Haralson said the elementary school, The Studio School, briefly went on lockdown.
Investigators are still searching for the suspect vehicle and those responsible for the shooting.
Anyone with information on the incident, or on a possible suspect, is asked to call police at 303 450-8868.
