Re: “Facing Congress, Planned Parenthood chief rebuts videos,” Sept. 30 news story.
The Denver Post uses Planned Parenthood’s talking points when framing the discussion over Planned Parenthood defunding.
The Associated Press graphic accompanying your story suggests abortion is only 3 percent of the business that Planned Parenthood provides. In fact, more than 12 percent of Planned Parenthood patients receive abortions, as reported by The Washington Post on Aug. 12.
Furthermore, the graphic points out that Planned Parenthood offers cancer screening and prevention services, but the reality is that this is an ever-decreasing portion of the services that they provide.
There are many other health care organizations that are better suited to provide comprehensive women’s health care than Planned Parenthood. Letap be clear — the defenders of Planned Parenthood are defending their abortion services and not women’s health care.
