Winning the “turnover ratio” has been a point of emphasis this season for the Colorado Buffaloes, and coach Mike MacIntyre says that will be the key to beating Arizona State this week.
Oregon won the turnover ratio 2-1 Saturday night when the Buffs fell 41-24. ASU coach Todd Graham saw turnovers as the difference in the Oregon game as well.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for Coach MacIntyre and the job he’s done,” Graham said. “If they don’t turn the football over, they could really easily have beaten Oregon last week. They did a tremendous job. They are vastly improved, and you can tell they compete with a great passion.”
The Sun Devils got off to a disappointing start at 2-2 after losing to Southern Cal 42-14 in their fourth game, but they rebounded last week to upset UCLA 38-23 on the road. In that game, they were ahead 29-10 going into the fourth quarter, then had to hang on for the win.
