Adams County authorities are investigating after a woman was struck in the head by a bullet in an apparently random shooting Friday morning near Brighton.
Sgt. Jim Morgen, spokesman for the county sheriff’s office, says the shooting happened at Harmony Gardens near 152nd Avenue and Interstate 76.
Morgen said the woman was not shot by someone in close proximity.
“They are looking if it maybe came from off site,” Morgen said, including a recreational shooter or hunter.
Brennan Babbitt, manager of Harmony Gardens, said the woman has worked at the landscape supply company for six years.
“She was watering plants,” Babbitt said.
The woman was taken to a hospital in fair condition.
