Two men, in separate cases, have been criminally charged this week in Denver with impersonating a police officer.

Richard Bugdanowitz, 72, was charged Monday with one count of impersonating a peace officer, according to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.

The charges allege that on Aug. 5 Bugdanowitz posed as a police officer and flashed a badge to other drivers while he was driving on Colorado Boulevard near I-25.

Bugdanowitz a Denver businessman, owns La Nouvelle Fine Cleaners, 4025 E. Dickenson Place.

In 2007, Bugdanowitz in the chest as he chased a pair of robbers from his dry cleaning business. He has no known criminal record.

In the impersonation case, Bugdanowitz has been released from jail on a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Oct. 29 in a Denver court.

Quentin Dever, 44, was charged Thursday with one count of impersonating a peace officer.

Charges allege that on Saturday Dever posing as an officer flashed a badge at Denver Health Medical Center.

He’s been released from jail on a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Nov. 2 in a Denver Court.

Both men face a felony charge.
