Loveland and Arapahoe Basin ski areas will be opening for business Thursday, a day that could bring natural snow and cool temperatures.
“There will be a few light snow showers in the mountains,” said Jim Kalina, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Temperatures beginning the day are expected to be in the high 20s in the mountains, with a chance for snow flurries. A-Basin’s first ski chair will begin taking skiers up the mountain at 9 a.m.

The high temperature in Loveland is expected to be 38 degrees.
Denver will be cool Thursday with a high of 57 with cloudy skies and dry weather.
There is a 30 percent chance for rain on Friday, when temperatures are expected to be 51.
“It should be a pretty good weekend,” Kalina said.
The temperature is expected to rise to 62 degrees on Halloween Saturday and 70 degrees just before the Broncos game against Green Bay on Sunday.
It will be getting dark an hour earlier Sunday though after the “fall back” time change.
