Playoff brackets for five of the seven classifications of football were released on Sunday, headed by the 32-team outlay for big schools, Class 5A.
Top seeds in the quadrants are Columbine, 2014 runner-up Valor Christian, efending stet champion Cherry Creek and Grandview, a semifinalist a year ago.
Oddly, Arapahoe, which went undefeated in the regular season for only the second time in program history, defeated Grandview head-to-head, and had more points in the qualifying system than the Wolves, was given a No. 2 seed.
The other No. 2 seeds were regular challenger Pomona, Regis Jesuit and Westminster, which also finished regular play 9-0.
In 2A, Bayfield (8-0) superseded Kent Denver (9-0), the 2014 runner-up, for top seed.
Buena Vista heads the 1A outlay, Sedgwick County leads 8-man and KiCarson tops 6-man. All are undefeated.
The 4A and 3A classes will have a 10th week of regular-season play before jumping into 16-team brackets.
Postseason, sites, times and dates should be set by Monday.
