
2001’s savagely funny, melancholic adaptation of Daniel Clowes’ comic book of the same name, cemented Terry Zwigoff as a nuanced narrative film director after the success of 1994’s bizarre, compelling documentary
The film also helped introduce Scarlett Johansson as a force to be reckoned with and sprinkled a clutch of excellent quotes into the cult-fan lexicon (“This is so bad it’s gone past good and back to bad again”). Now the movie is enjoying a five-date mini tour of Alamo Drafthouses around the central U.S., including the Littleton location on Nov. 14.
Actress Illeana Douglas (“Cape Fear,” “To Die For”), who played the carrot-topped, summer art-class teacher Roberta in “Ghost World,” is touring with the film and will hold a live Q&A after the Nov. 14 screening — part of a larger effort to push her new memoir, “I Blame Dennis Hopper: And Other Stories from a Life Lived In and Out of the Movies” (which will, naturally, be available to buy and have signed).
