The race for mayor of Lakewood, one of the closest electoral contests in the state, appears to be a win for Councilman Adam Paul.
Paul’s opponent, Councilwoman Ramey Johnson, conceded Thursday, down by 452 votes — or less than 1 percent — out of nearly 41,000 cast.
In an e-mail she sent to Paul this week, Ramey told him that she looked forward to “working constructively with you and the new city council later this month.”
Tuesday’s election brings four new faces to the 11-person City Council.
Charley Able, Sharon Vincent and Barb Franks will fill the seats of term-limited or departing council members.
Dana Gutwein held a razor-thin lead — 106 votes out of nearly 8,000 cast — over Jessica Skimel in Ward 5.
Skimel said Friday she hasn’t conceded the race, given the number of provisional ballots that need to be tallied.
Pete Roybal was easily re-elected to his seat, besting Gary Harty by 19 percentage points. The mayor and council members will be sworn in Nov. 23.
