GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson speaks last month in Lakewood. (David Zalubowski, The Associated Press)
Re: Defiant Carson: Questions about West Point story are unfair, Nov. 7 news story.
I find it completely predictable that the mainstream media has searched methodically for a skeleton in the closet of Dr. Ben Carson. A conversation 20-plus years ago and there is a sensationalist pounce like lions going for the kill. Yet the misdirection fed to all Americans by Hillary Clinton, who flat-out lied in the most recent Benghazi hearing, gets swept under the rug. She can do no wrong.
Why is it that the liberal agenda can painstakingly search for a fragment of indiscretion on any and all Republican candidates but I never see, hear or read any attention to the possible wrongdoings of any of the Democratic candidates?
We have a man running for president who could actually bring about positive change and the only skeleton you can dig up is a decades-old statement about being a shoo-in to West Point? Really? What s next? He ordered Girl Scout cookies and never paid?

A letter-writer questions whether a man who does not believe in evolution, Dr. Ben Carson, should be elected president. On the same day, The Denver Post reports on inaccuracies in Carson s claim to have been offered a full scholarship to West Point. In my opinion, who cares?
Would you go to a doctor who never went to medical school and never treated a patient? If you did, would it matter what he believed or didn t believe? The fundamental problem with Dr. Carson s candidacy is that he has no experience or qualifications for the job. The rest seems trivial.
