It has been likened to the legendary Steve Earle. Whether he’s worthy of that high praise or not, he and Earle have one distinguished quality in common: Both have earned themselves major American entertainment awards. While Earle has a trio of Grammys, “The Weary Kind,” Bingham’s contribution to the 2009 film “Crazy Heart,” nabbed him an Oscar for Best Original Song.
