And the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in Denver has a winner in its charity chili cookoff held Nov. 20. Two of them actually.

Jennifer Santistevan took the prize for best hot chili, while Kevin Collins got the people’s choice award and landed the top spot for best mild chili. Collins made his batch of green chili with tomatillos and chipotle peppers.

“We only had five contestants this year, but we sold out and had great attendance,” Collins said.

Proving once again that folks would always rather lick a chili spoon than a stamp.

The event is a fundraiser to raise money for Rocky Mountain Combined Federal Campaign for area charities, which includes organizations such as the Downs Syndrome Association, Alzheimer’s Association, and Dumb Friends League.
