Colorado’s turkey this Thanksgiving will come with a side of cold and snow.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for northeastern Colorado as an arctic front slides south Wednesday out of Wyoming.
Temperatures in northeastern Colorado will start to drop late in the morning Wednesday and are expected to dip below freezing by nightfall, the weather service reports.
Freezing drizzle and light snow will begin Wednesday night. The cold, wet weather will continue Thanksgiving Day. Travel in northeastern Colorado will be hampered by the weather, with possible slick, icy and snow-packed roads.
Through Thursday, the Front Range foothills could see 5 to 10 inches of new snow. Along the I-25 corridor, 2 to 6 inches of snow is forecast, with up to 3 inches of snow on the Eastern Plains. Chances of snow should start diminishing Friday morning.
Temperatures will be unseasonably cold for the holiday and on Black Friday, with highs struggling to climb above the 20-degree mark.
