Be careful. The holiday season brings out the Grinch in some people.
A man in Northglenn robbed an elderly woman after she accepted his offer to carry her groceries on Tuesday.
“He was generously offering to take groceries up to an apartment, and he did so, and left with a purse,” said Northglenn police spokeswoman Renae Lehr.
The incident happened just before 2 p.m., at 301 Malley Drive, at the Aspen Park Apartments, Lehr said.
The robber, a thin man in his early 20s wearing dark sunglasses drove off in a Ford Focus.
There have been no similar robberies lately in Northglenn, Lehr said. “This is just a good opportunity to remind others that there are people out there this time of year looking for the opportunity to steal things. Watch your surroundings, because unfortunately, there are other people watching for an opportunity.”
