Friday-Saturday. The 9News Parade of Lights is a generation-spanning tradition that draws about 500,000 people to downtown Denver each holiday season. This year’s 41st annual event, which begins in front of the City and County Building (14th and Bannock Streets) before traveling up 17th Street and back down 15th Street, will feature 11 floats, seven marching bands, three giant balloons and 1,000 overall participants framed by 200,000 lights. Surface viewing along the 2-mile route is free, and grandstand tickets are $16-$20 by calling 866-461-6556 (children under 2 are free). The parade begins at 8 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 6 p.m. on Dec. 5.
