Englewood police have arrested a 17-year-old boy after finding an 18-year-old shot to death in the 3300 block of South Santa Fe Drive on Saturday night.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at about 9:45 p.m.

“When officers arrived they found an 18-year-old male deceased with at least one gunshot wound,” said Sgt. Brian Cousineau.

“My understanding is that it actually happened inside a vehicle.”

The suspected assailant is under investigation for Second-Degree Murder, Cousineau said.

He was arrested without incident. “He didn’t take off or anything,” Cousineau said.

Police didn’t identify the victim or suspect.

This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
