Discussing the city’s commitment to take action to address climate change, Mayor Michael Hancock said, “As you’re growing, you’re going to have to massively grow more open space.” According to your article, “City officials will fight to have all new development include a percentage of acres set aside as open space.” What a joke. Where were city officials when the Union Station area was being redeveloped? There is not a square inch of real estate between Wynkoop Street and the railroad tracks that was not paved over or built on. Imagine a green plaza in the middle of that development. Maybe with a mountain view. Dream on.
