Sunday. The University of Denver’s Carl Williams Carillon isn’t just any carillon — it’s a grand carillon, officially so because it boasts a whopping 65 bronze bells. The largest bell weighs 6 tons and the instrument clocks in at 64,900 pounds. DU releases those facts as a way of getting the city excited Sunday for the 17th annual Holiday Carillon Recital. The concert features Carol Jickling Lens performing standards like “Carol of the Bells” and “Silent Night.” The event is the Lamont School of Music’s holiday gift to the community. 3 p.m. Sunday on the lawn of the Ritchie Center at Buchtel and University Boulevards. Free. Info at .
