A 32-year-old Denver man was sentenced to more than 24 years in federal prison for producing child pornography.
Minh Thong was sentenced in Denver Tuesday by U.S. District Court Judge Robert E. Blackburn, according to United States Attorney, District of Colorado, media release.
Thong was indicted by a federal grand jury on Jan. 27, 2014.
He pleaded guilty in the case on Aug. 14
.
Blackburn also ordered Thong to serve 15 years of supervised release after serving the prison term.
Thong appeared at his Tuesday sentencing and was remanded into custody.
Based on computer forensic examinations of evidence in the case, investigators assert that there are at least 100 victims depicted in the child pornography videos created by Thong.
Multiple minor victims have been identified, ranging in age from 12 to 16 at the time the videos were made, the release said.
“The defendant in this case went far beyond viewing and possessing child pornography; he actively manipulated minors through lies and deceit to produce it for him,” U.S. Attorney John Walsh said in the release. “Minh Thong victimized over 100 children young people and is facing the stern consequences for his crimes.”
Thong, who was a popular skateboard photographer, met and preyed on victims he met through his photography.
