Long-time Colorado Rapids defender Drew Moor signed with Toronto FC, the Rapids announced Wednesday.

Moor, 31, started 180 regular-season games for the Rapids from 2009-15, tallying 14 goals. He was part of Colorado’s MLS Cup-winning squad in 2010 and was selected an all-star in 2015.

“Drew Moor has been an outstanding servant to Colorado Rapids on and off the pitch. He has been a great player, great captain and great ambassador during his time with us,” Rapids president Tim Hinchey said in a news release.

He was twice named the Rapids’ defensive player of the year in 2010 and 2012. He set an MLS record in 2011 when he played the full 90 minutes in 69 consecutive regular season games.

Moor is the first free agent signing in Toronto FC’s club history.

“This free agency period was a great opportunity to look at a wide range of options and choose a club and a city that was going to be the best fit for my family and me,” Moor said in a news release from Toronto FC. “We instantly felt that Toronto gave us the best of both worlds and I’m excited to help make a difference on the pitch here but also to make this community home. I am very grateful to Colorado and the Rapids fans for their support over the past seven years and look forward to an exciting new chapter in my career in Toronto.”
