
Typically, Broncos players will miss practice due to injury, illness or simply for a rest day. There has, however, been a recent trend with players missing workouts for positive news — they’re preparing to be dads.
Defensive end Malik Jackson became the third Broncos’ player this month to have a baby on the way.
“I don’t know if it’s been delivered yet or not,” coach Gary Kubiak said at Thursday’s post-practice press conference. “We have a lot of Thursday babies. Guys don’t know how to have babies on Tuesdays. They have them on Thursday.”
Kubiak’s joke was in reference to receiver Cody Latimer and linebacker Corey Nelson, who had babies earlier and the season. Each missed a day of practice.
Last month, receiver too.
