Donald Trump’s first TV ad is 30 seconds of extravagant fantasy.
He will stop Muslims from entering the U.S. “until we can figure out what’s going on,” the ad says, whatever that means.
He will “quickly cut the head off ISIS” — quickly, of course, because it’s so easy, right? — “and take their oil.”
So we’ll occupy areas of Syria and/or Iraq to seize oil fields and infrastructure and treat them as our own. And the American people will support this act of plunder?
Naturally, Trump will “stop illegal immigration by building a wall on our southern border that Mexico will pay for.” He means illegal immigration from Mexico, actually, since illegal immigrants from most countries — and they number in the millions — usually come to the U.S. on visas and then stay on.
And you just know Mexico will fall in line to pay for that wall, don’t you?
The net result: “We will make America great again!”
Who wouldn’t be excited?
