The New England Patriots placed linebacker Jerod Mayo on injured reserve on Tuesday.
He injured his shoulder in last Saturday’s win against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 6-foot-1, 250-pound Mayo played in all 16 regular season games for New England, recording 49 tackles, one sack and a pass deflected.
The Patriots will play the Broncos in the AFC championship game on Sunday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
