The temperature in Denver is expected to rise to 50 degrees Friday and to 57 on Saturday before a cold front cools things off on Sunday, forecasters say.
“It’s about as warm as you can expect temperatures to reach in Denver in January,” said Kyle Fredin, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder.
After temperatures rise into the 50s Friday and Saturday, a cool front out of the northwest will lower temperatures by about 10 degrees on Sunday.
But the high temperature is still expected to be 47 degrees in Denver right around the beginning of the Denver Broncos playoff game against the New England Patriots.
It could begin to snow in the late afternoon and evening, but no measurable amount of snow is expected in the Denver metro area.
The mountains could get between 1 and 4 inches of snow Sunday night and Monday morning, Fredin said.
High temperatures will be in the 30s Monday and Tuesday before rising into the 50s by Wednesday, he said.
