Starbucks stirs up some fun every week, no coffee involved. Every Tuesday, the ubiquitous coffee shop releases its “Pick of the Week” — a free downloadable song, book, game or app. Just stop by and pick up each week’s redemption card. (No purchase necessary for you noncoffee drinkers.) The “Pick of the Week” card can usually be found near the register or pickup counter. If not, ask a barista for assistance. The value of the download ranges from 99-cents to $19.99 and more. One recent app was worth $34.99. January is National Soup Month and it’s the perfect time to slurp on the hot dish. Customers can enjoy On The Border’s chicken tortilla soup on the cheap. Then, pancakes are served two at a time until the customer is “full.” Diners may also choose a stack of five buttermilk pancakes as the main course.
