1 Buzzkill for weed grower. On Dec. 14, police following through on an anonymous tip called a man suspected of growing an excessive number of pot plants in the basement of his home in the 1200 block of South Otis Court in Lakewood. The man admitted to growing marijuana and scheduled a Jan. 21 home inspection with police.

2 Busted for meth. A man suspected of stealing a Bluetooth device from O’Reilly Auto Parts, 5807 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood, was arrested Jan. 13 on an outstanding warrant and for possession of stolen ID cards. A second search uncovered five grams of meth in his winter jacket.

3 Lying gets man cited. A man police suspected of stealing a bike Jan. 16 near West Ninth Avenue and Kipling Street in Lakewood repeatedly gave officers a false name. After discovering his real name, police found no warrants for the man or proof the bike was stolen. He was cited for false reporting.

4 Sleeping while driving. A man found slumped over the wheel of his Chevy truck Jan. 14 at the intersection of West Belleview Avenue and South Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood flipped officers off and said he would not get out of the car when they woke him up. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

5 Shoplifter caught on camera. Police arrested a man Jan. 13 for walking out of Walmart, 440 Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, with stolen socks, pants and a sandwich.

6 Work tools stolen. Roughly $500 of construction equipment was reported stolen Jan. 15 from a truck in the 400 block of Saulsbury Street, Lakewood.
