It didn’t matter because after the game they were Super Bowl champs, but cornerback Aqib Talib’s rough series on the Panthers’ opening drive almost was a turning point of the game.

Talib committed three penalties on the same drive, including two personal fouls. The most blatant one came when Panthers’ receiver Corey Brown caught a pass and ran just shy of the goal line. Talib forced him out by taking full grasp of his face mask and throwing him out-of-bounds.

The NFL is looking into potential discipline toward Talib after he admitted it was initial because he knew it would only be a one-yard penalty.

Brown responded via Twitter Wednesday saying a suspension wasn’t necessary, but he did look forward to playing Talib next season. He said that Talib was “frustrated and that’s what immature pros do.”

Talib was penalized on the play and had to be calmed down on the sidelines by safety T.J. Ward and other Broncos’ defenders after the series concluded.

I don’t think talib should be suspended. I hope he plays when we travel to denver next yr. He was frustrated that’s what immature pros do ¼ï¸
