Three armed, masked men on Thursday robbed a home, which doubles as a child day care, east of Colorado Springs.

The robbery happened at about 1:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Riverwalk Parkway, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said a woman knocked at the front door and when the victim answered the three robbers entered through a back sliding glass door.

The robbers ransacked the home, with two of them going upstairs.

Two firearms, the victims’ cellphone and purse were stolen in the incident.

Four children were in the residence at the time of the home invasion, and no one was injured, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.

The woman who knocked on the door first asked the victim to verify the address, which she did, and the woman then walked off.

The three masked robbers exited the home through the garage.

The female suspect is described as a white, or Hispanic woman, 18 to 15 years of age, about 5-feet 5-inches tall and 135 pounds. She has blonde or light hair with dark roots and was wearing a red tank top with black pants.

All three men wore masks, dark hoodies and were armed with hand guns.

Anyone with information on the crime or on possible suspects is asked to call Detective Jim Vidmar at 719 390-5555.
