Denver firefighters responded to a trash fire in a recycling center on Tuesday afternoon shortly after 1 p.m.
The fire at 4770 N. Ivy St. sent a thick plume of smoke into the air. “It looks like a pretty good size of a fire,” said Mike Pylar, Denver Fire Department spokesman, who could see the plume of smoke as he approached the location.
No one was hurt and no buildings at Denver Metal Recycling were damaged, Pylar said.
“Firefighters were able to get it somewhat under control. It is a hodgepodge of trash, plastic shopping carts, appliances,” and other things, Pylar said.
