Grammy judges tend to show their age when it comes to the “Best New Artist” category.

This year was no different. “All About That Bass” singer Meghan Trainor took down the award, beating out Australian singer-songwriter . (We would pull down the award earlier in the week.)

But it was Barnett, not Trainor, who found herself on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” last night. Out promoting her debut full-length, “Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit,” she wasted no air time, launching into a commanding performance of “Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party.”
