
A man who barricaded himself in a home for about 10 hours was found dead in his home Monday morning.
Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team members entered the home at 7:44 a.m. and found the body of a man.
An investigation is continuing, said Vince Line, bureau chief for the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities were called to a home on the 20400 block of East Hampden Place at 9 p.m., Line said.
As deputies approached the home, a toward the deputies, he said.
The deputies were not struck and they did not return fire, Line said. A barricade situation ensued.
Notifications were made through the 911 call-back system to the neighborhood surrounding the residence. Several houses in the immediate area were evacuated or people were advised to stay in their homes.
Police have not released the name of the shooting suspect.
Hampden Avenue was closed during the investigation until about 8 a.m. Monday.
