COLORADO SPRINGS — A Coronado High School security guard accused of having a sexual relationship with a runaway teenager has been terminated from his position after a 6-0 vote Wednesday night by the Colorado Springs School District 11 board of education.
Tyler Hamilton, 29, was on the list of recommended terminations for violating board policy. A board member did not attend the meeting.
According to court documents, Hamilton had a seven-month sexual relationship with a 16-year-old before he was arrested Feb. 4. The teenager told investigators that Hamilton got her pregnant and helped her attempt a “natural abortion” through over-the-counter medications and herbs, based on online recommendations.
Hamilton’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 22.
