Retro rock icons Def Leppard have announced a 55-city North American tour this summer, including a date at Denver’s Pepsi Center on September 17.

The band will be joined by REO Speedwagon and smaller blues-metal rockers Tesla for the majority of the tour, including their Denver show.

Tickets are $29.50-$125 and go on sale March 4 at 10 a.m. via .

The announcement comes just six months after Def Leppard’s last show in Denver, when Joe Elliot and company played with Styx and, again, Tesla. Here’s what Reverb writer and photographer Alan Cox had to say about the show:

From Animal, Fooling and Let It Go, Def Leppard played with an edge and energy that catapulted the audience back to the 80s (an edge that seemed lacking from the band s recent studio recordings). In his age-defying habit, Phil Collen played shirtless and his toned physique was on display. The band stuck closely to predictable crowd favorites including Rocket, which had strong video support, and Hysteria which featured vintage video and photos of the band s early days. The two unexpected surprises were a cover of David Essex s Rock On and Elliot playing an acoustic guitar alone singing Two Steps Behind, where there was no hiding if he had voice problems. He did not.

Is Def Leppard still big enough to merit two arena shows in less than a year? The tour’s promoters in LiveNation seem to be counting on it. The band have released a new, self-titled album since they last set foot in the Mile High City — which to their credit actually on release week– so if you’ve been dying to hear them play their new songs, here’s your chance.
