Police say a man walked into a Colorado Springs bank Wednesday afternoon and demanded money in what appeared to be a robbery attempt before declaring the whole thing a joke.

Officers were called to the Bank of Colorado in the 4300 block of Edison Avenue on reports of an attempted robbery when they learned of the situation.

Investigators say the man was alone and unarmed when he walked into the bank. He then left without incident after calling his actions a hoax.

Police, nonetheless, say they want to talk with the suspect, who is described as a white man who is roughly 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. Investigators said the man has dark hair, a mustache and a beard.

The Colorado Springs police robbery unit is investigating the case.
