A smiling Gov. John Hickenlooper standing with a backdrop of snowy Colorado mountains appears on the cover of his forthcoming autobiography, The Opposite of Woe: My Life in Beer and Politics.

The cover debuted recently ahead of the book s release date, May 24. The hardcover is listed at $30 on Amazon.com. The Democratic governor s former communications adviser Maximillian Potter is the co-author of the book. Hickenlooper is even offering to sign a sticker for some pre-orders.

The maverick (and very funny) governor of Colorado tells his story, from early loss to college on the ten-year plan, to remarkable business and political success, a promotional description reads. The book, it continues, is a fresh and refreshing angle on our political landscape from one of its brightest rising stars.

The timing of the book s release is sure to make Hickenlooper a popular figure just as the vice presidential search rears up ahead of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in late July. And it will definitely seek to define the narrative of his life, despite a number of questions from his years as the state’s chief executive.

The second-term governor is considered a contender for the No. 2 spot if Hillary Clinton wins the nomination, or may be a candidate for a high-level cabinet post. It s unclear whether Hickenlooper would ditch the rest of his four-year term to make the move — he s currently looking for a new lieutenant governor who would fill his shoes if he makes the jump.
