The Rocky Ford Police Department is searching for a man they suspect was involved in a shooting Thursday evening, according to a news release from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Officials have obtained an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Ricky Maes, who they believe was involved in an altercation on North 8th Street just after 6 p.m. Thursday.

Maes allegedly shot a victim when he fired multiple rounds from a handgun. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery, the release said.

Maes is wanted for attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, the CBI said.

Officials have taken a second suspect, 26-year-old Brittany Barron, into custody. She faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and domestic violence. Barron is being held at the Otero County Jail without bond and is expected to make her first court appearance Friday.

Officials have asked anyone with information about the location of Maes to call the Rocky Ford Police Department at 719-254-3344 or the Agent Joseph Cahill with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation at 303-239-4211.

Officials say Maes should be considered armed and dangerous.
