The spring pass deals have sprung, and it’s an all-out blitz by competitors to make a dent in the market share of Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass.

Vail Resorts sells more than 350,000 Epic Passes every year, and the rest of the resort industry is slashing prices to compete.

The largest resort operator in North America last week raised the Epic Pass price $10 to $809. It delivers unrestricted access to 13 Vail Resorts properties in the U.S. and Australia. The Epic SchoolKids pass is back, too, with four free days at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone.

A mingling of several private and public resort operators cut $100 from the M.A.X. Pass price for 2016-17, offering five days at each of 25 ski resorts across North America for $599, or 10 days for $898.

Winter Park and Copper Mountain are teaming up again, offering a free kid pass with the purchase of an adult Rocky Mountain Super Pass+ for $499. Super Pass gets you unlimited skiing at Winter Park, Copper Mountain and Eldora, plus six days at Steamboat and three at Crested Butte.

The 2016-17 Mountain Collective Pass also included a kids’ pass deal, $1 with the purchase of a $379 adult pass. The Mountain Collective provides two days at each of 12 resorts in the west, including Aspen/Snowmass.
