ASPEN — The Colorado Attorney General’s Office is facilitating the investigation into a string of fur coat thefts in Aspen, Vail and Denver last month, a spokesman said Tuesday.
Because the case involves multiple jurisdictions, Attorney General Cynthia Coffman will look to eventually consolidate the cases into one, said Roger Hudson.
Aspen police believe the same man and woman stole six fur coats valued at just under $200,000 from three different downtown businesses on Valentine’s Day. They were caught on video at one of the Aspen stores.
The same day, a couple also stole a $35,000 fur coat from a store in Vail, Vail police have said. And around the same time, a man and woman also stole $20,000 worth of fur coats from each of four Front Range stores, Aspen police have said.
