A 30-year-old Canadian man has been charged in connection with a Denver sexual assault, officials said Wednesday.
Colby James Messer is charged with six counts of sexual assault in the “brutal” case involving a 27-year-old woman last November in a Denver hotel, according to a Denver District Attorney news release.
The charges allege that Messer met the victim at a Denver bar and took her back to a hotel room he was sharing with friends. The victim was then repeatedly sexually assaulted, the release said.
Denver police identified several suspects who had all returned to Canada. Messer was arrested when he came back to the United States earlier this month, officials said.
Messer was taken into custody in Las Vegas on March 4. He is appearing in Denver County Court on Wednesday at which point his bond will be set.
