Aurora clearly has taken over Colorado’s Class 5A boys basketball.
The right side of the Denver-metropolitan area has accounted for six state championships since 2009, including the past two, and when considering the area’s growth, no end appears in sight.
So why not have its own all-star game?
With the Nuggets discontinuing their all-star games, The Show, the Aurora Sentinel will launch its own boys game on Saturday, 1 p.m., at Aurora Central, the city’s original high school. Billed as the A-Town All-Stars, it will involve 24 players from Aurora — notably Overland’s De’Ron Davis — and each of the city’s 11 schools will be represented.
Admission will be $5 and it will be broadcast live on StreamItSports.
