
International Rapids
Several members of the Rapids will be playing with their respective national teams Tuesday as FIFA’s March 21-29 international window comes to a close. Here is a rundown of where and when they will be playing:
Tim Howard, goalkeeper (U.S.) and Marco Pappa, midfielder (Guatemala)
U.S. coach , meaning Brad Guzan is expected to start Tuesday in the World Cup-qualifying match. Howard started and allowed two goals in Guatemala on Friday. Pappa played the entire second half in Guatemala’s 2-0 victory.
5:25 p.m. Tuesday at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, on ESPN2, UniMas and UDN
Dillon Serna, midfielder (U.S.) and Eric Miller, defender (U.S.)
Entering the final match in Olympic qualifying for the Rio de Janeiro Games this summer, the U.S. will know Tuesday whether it is going to Brazil or not. The U.S. has a slim advantage in its two-leg match with Colombia holding the away-goal tiebreaker, after a 1-1 draw in Colombia on Friday. Scores of the two games will be combined with the winner advancing. Miller played the full 90 minutes Friday. Serna did not dress.
7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, on ESPN2
Mekeil Williams, defender (Trinidad and Tobago)
Trinidad and Tobago defeated St. Vincent and the Grenadines 3-2 on the road Friday and will face them on home soil Tuesday in World Cup qualifying. Williams did not play in Friday’s game.
5 p.m. Tuesday at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on beIN Sports
Shkelzen Gashi, forward (Albania)
After losing 2-1 to Austria on Saturday, Albania takes on Luxembourg in an international friendly Tuesday. Gashi did not dress against Austria.
12:15 p.m. Tuesday at Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
Micheal Azira, midfielder (Uganda)
After losing 1-0 to Burkina Faso on Saturday, Uganda hosts Burkina Faso on Tuesday.
10 a.m. Tuesday at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda
Footnote. Rapids striker Kevin Doyle, who was injured while playing for the Republic of Ireland on Friday, won’t play Tuesday in his nation’s international friendly against Slovakia.
